Leon Speakers Launches ToneCase: A Collection
of Products to Customize Sonos Speakers
Hardwood cabinets, custom grills and innovative bracketry add performance and style to Sonos systems

Ann Arbor, MI — March 26, 2015 — Leon Speakers today announced the introduction of ToneCase™, a full suite of customizable products that provides an entirely new set of possibilities for integrators that sell and install Sonos® systems. The ToneCase™ product line brings Leon’s renowned sense of customization and style to the Sonos line of speakers, including PLAY:1®, PLAY:3®, PLAY:5® and PLAYBAR®. For nearly 20 years, Leon has been a leader in the Custom Integration channel, creating high-quality speakers and soundbars that are custom built to match the exact dimensions of any TV and coordinate with any decor. Their new line of ToneCase products were developed around the same fundamentals. Each product is designed to complement and conceal Sonos speakers within the design of any space, whether adding a custom-width grill covering to match a PLAYBAR to a TV, or enhancing the PLAY:5 with solid hardwood cabinets.
While the SONOS PLAYBAR is widely used in the CI and CE industry to deliver a wireless, “Plug-and-Play” soundbar solution, the cosmetics of the PLAYBAR do not always match the aesthetics of the customer’s living space – an advantage to which Leon clients are accustomed. Leon’s new ToneCase Mounting System for PLAYBAR (TcFIT) solves this dilemma, combining the design characteristics and aesthetic options of Leon’s custom soundbars with the versatility of their exclusive mounting brackets. Leon’s ToneCase Mounting System attaches the PLAYBAR directly to the TV with multiple points of articulation, enabling the sound to move in concert with the display. Each system is then outfitted with a customized grill that is built to match the exact width of any TV. This approach visually integrates the PLAYBAR with the display, delivering on Leon’s promise of Picture Perfect Sound®.
“At Leon, we are driven by our mission to bring more music to more spaces, and always do it with style,” said Noah Kaplan, Founder of Leon Speakers. “By leveraging our expertise in bespoke manufacturing, we can offer personalized, designer-friendly solutions for Sonos customers. We have immense admiration for what Sonos has accomplished sonically, and we are excited to complement their great sound experience by providing handcrafted, American-made solutions and a custom design aesthetic that can work in any space.”
As part of the launch in the Media Decor Series, Leon is also offering ToneCase Hardwood Cabinets in three sizes, built specifically for the SONOS PLAY:1, PLAY:3 and PLAY:5. Leon’s hardwood products have been touted in the industry for their elegant design and expert craftsmanship. The new Tc1S, Tc3S and Tc5S perfectly exemplify these ideals. Handcrafted from solid White Oak or Black Walnut, these cabinets are engineered to house the Sonos speakers, leaving access for all controls and wire management. The solid hardwood cabinet also adds a richness to the tonality of the speakers, thereby elevating Sonos’ already outstanding sonic experience even higher. To accommodate 5.1 surround applications with PLAYBAR, Leon’s Tc1S and Tc3S are also available with a wall mount bracket and custom painted finishes to match the wall color.
Leon’s lineup of Sonos integration solutions will be available for pre-order April 6, 2015 exclusively through its worldwide dealer network (products will start shipping April 15, 2015). The ToneCase Mounting System for PLAYBAR retails at $595 (TcFIT) and ships with a hand-stretched, custom-width grill in just 3-5 business days. It is also available without the grill (TcUMB) for $395. The ToneCase Hardwood Cabinets, Tc1S, Tc3S and Tc5S, retail for $249/ea, $295/ea and $395/ea respectively, available in White Oak or Black Walnut. The Tc3S and Tc1S are available with articulating wall mount brackets (TcFMB). Exotic hardwoods and custom painted finishes are also available (prices upon request).
